Dr Nicole Cloonan

Redefining The miRNA- mRNA Interactiome Using RNAseq
Nicole Cloonan is a Senior Research Fellow currently working at
the Queensland Centre for Medical Genomics (QCMG) with Professor
Sean Grimmond. Her work is multi-disciplinary in nature, involving
computational biology and bioinformatics, biochemistry, cell
biology, and molecular biology - all of which she uses to
understand the complexity, function, and regulation of RNA. She was
awarded her PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Computational
Biology from Griffith University in 2006, and has been resisting
the urge to focus her studies since then. Recently, she has been
working at the intersection of genomics and bioinformatics to
establish the methods and analysis of next-generation sequencing,
work that has been fundamental to the contribution of the QCMG to
the International Cancer Genome Consortium.
